How to grow herbs indoors in winter

Winter indoor herb care comes down to three things moving at once: less light, drier air from heating, and a plant that is growing more slowly and needs less water. Treat any one of them alone and the other two keep working against the pot. What heated indoor air does to soil and leaves

Forced-air heat changes the room in a way that is easy to miss because the air does not feel obviously different.
